3d printed parts high resolution using SLS materials exceltec polyamide 12 Innov’PA 1550 Xs is a fine powder based on polyamide 12 (thermoplastic), specially formulated to function on rapid prototyping systems by laser sintering or radiation. It enables the production of models and functional parts in “plastic engineering” with long lifecycles and excellent chemical resistance.

Prints made using this polyamide powder have a natural color – creamy off-white. They can be colored with coloring charges for Innov’PA products (C4pfp03) in Black, Blue, Red and Grey.

Innov’PA 1550 Xs is based on a new formula with improved mechanical characteristics. The improvements of the mechanical properties allow for better cohesion of the layers. This enables a plastic behavior and responsive mechanics that approaches the characteristics for the injected products. A simple blasting of the print is sufficient, but these parts can also be finished and painted if needed.

A refined granulometry, precise and very tight, allows this material to be printed with excellent resolution of contour and surface. These innovative properties make the material appropriate for Rapid Manufacturing.

3d prints using sls exceltec innovPA 1550 Xs high resolutionThe reuseability of the powder on the rapid prototyping systems is optimized so that all the powder from a printing session can be re-used after sifting. Because of the special properties of Innov’PA 1550 Xs, material waste is lower than usual for systems of rapid prototyping. Whereas most materials require the printer to be loaded with 50% new material and 50% recovered material, this material can account for up to 75% of the material for each new print, and is much more economical to use.
